1968 Tudor Oyster-Prince Date (Ref. 7966/0) W/ Papers "C&P Telephone Service Award"

The Rolex/Tudor relationship dates back to 1926 when Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex SA, wanted to create a more affordable wristwatch alternative that still maintained a high quality of craftsmanship. Tudor manufactured wristwatches adjacent to Rolex for many years, which featured more affordable non-inhouse Swiss movements, whilst still utilizing Rolex's case designs and manufacturing processes. Even though Tudor shares many similarities with its older brother Rolex, Tudor's designs tended to differentiate from the Rolex formula to make for some uniquely fantastic timepieces in their own right.

What better way to show appreciation to an employee for their many dedicated years of service than a luxury timepiece? Many corporations would agree as watches became the touchstone gift for an employee's quarter centennial with any one company or corporation, most commonly seen by IBM. This Tudor, however, was awarded for 25 years of service from the C&P Telephone Company, also known as Bell at the time, and later Verizon. The owner of this Tudor ref. 7996/0 really cherished this watch as well, as it comes with its original Tudor guarantee, the C&P Telephone Service Award booklet, along with the original Spiedel stretch bracelet the watch was gifted on which features a C&P Telephone "Bell" charm with three gemstones. We love watches that tell a story and whether you're in the telecommunications business or just love time capsule watches, this quirky Tudor Date paints a full story and doesn't disappoint.
