Longines
1969 Longines Dress Watch (Ref. 8319 3) "Turler" Dial
Longines is one of the oldest continuously operating watch manufacturers in the world, with roots dating back to 1832. Over that immense period of time, the brand has crafted some truly incredible and incredibly accurate timepieces. In fact, Longines is the official timekeeper of the Kentucky Derby, where accuracy is paramount.
The brand's history is full of an array of watch styles, including beautiful sports watches, military-issued timepieces, and unique dress watches. This ref. 8319-3 from 1969 somehow has bits of all three. It's a sleek, all-silver-everything model with a 33mm case and a gorgeous convex-shaped silver sunburst dial. It's a beautiful, timeless piece that's quintessentially Longines and would look great on quite literally anyone.
To make it even more special, this Longines is co-signed by Turler, a Zurich-based jeweler established in 1883 by brothers Jean Henri and César Alexander Turler. The brothers made a name for themselves by offering their customers the newest and most exclusive Swiss watch brands at the time, including Audemars Piguet, Omega, Longines, Vacheron Constantin, and Blancpain. With the prestige the Turler name carried, they started to co-sign the dials of some of the watches they offered, similar to other well-respected retailers at the time. These Turler co-signed watches produced throughout the 20th century are now desired by collectors alike for their rarity and the provenance they carry.

CASE & BRACELET
The slim, faceted-lug case shows minimal wear throughout, considering the age of the watch, and retains crisp factory chamfers and finishing. The Longines-signed crown is likely original to the watch. The case back shows some light wear and tooling marks, but is overall very clean. The watch comes supplied on a two-piece leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The original convex-shaped silver sunburst dial remains beautifully preserved, showing some light age and a few small marks. The onyx-inlaid hour markers are clean and in great shape, with nicely patina'd tritium lume plots nestled on the inside edge of the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers. The original hands are in excellent shape with original lume that matches the dial perfectly.
