Seiko

1969 Seiko Automatic Sports Diver "JDM" (Ref. 6106-8109) Grey

$ 1,050

Although they may not be the most luxurious, Seiko watches are loved by collectors both at the entry level and by the most discerning collector with a cult-like following. There is a specific sense of satisfaction that comes from wearing a Seiko– you become a part of a long lineage of excellent watchmaking and extreme attention to detail in a resilient fashion across the range of Seiko timepieces.

Of course, among the many amazing watches this brand has released over the years, there are several dive watches among the fold, the most legendary of which was Seiko’s original professional diver, the 62MAS. However, the ref. 6106-8109 was the first "sports diver" from Seiko, marketed toward recreational enthusiasts, rather than hardcore professionals, and this particular model was created specifically for the Japanese domestic market. With a slim C-shaped case and clean dial design, it's a watch that could either hit the waves or head to the day job with equal aplomb. And, as with many Seikos, this one looks just as good today as it did in 1969 – a true testament to the brand's incredible and timeless designs.
