1970 Rolex Oyster-Perpetual Date (Ref. 1500) "Blue Denim" Sigma Dial
This Rolex Oyster Perpetual would make a great start for a new vintage collector, or be a great addition to an expanding collection as a daily driver and would provide a classic feel while bringing a unique look while worn on the wrist. A Sigma dial is a Rolex dial named for the letters printed at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Most Rolex dials are commonly marked with “T Swiss T,” under the 6 o'clock marker, however, a Sigma dial is marked “σ T SWISS T σ.” This signifies the use of gold components within the dial.

CASE & BRACELET
The symmetrical case has been polished in the past and retains full lugs that show light signs of honest use. The smooth stainless steel bezel has seen a light polish as well and displays light signs of use. The original Rolex 7835 folded-link Oyster bracelet with 357 end pieces retains 13 links and display some stretch from use.
DIAL & HANDS
The blue sigma dial has taken on an extremely unique and very attractive patina that resembles the grain in selvedge denim. The dial itself is very clean and remains in excellent condition. The tritium lume plots have aged to a grey patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands show some age and the lume matches the dial perfectly, under U.V. light inspection the hour hand shows a dot of lume loss and remains stable, the minute hand remains fully intact. The metallic date wheel is era correct with open 6's and 9's.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
