1971 Rolex Two-Tone Datejust (Ref. 1601) Silver "Aladdin" Co-Branded Dial

The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever made. The dial of this Rolex Datejust is co-branded with Aladdin Industries, Inc., a company best known for producing licensed, and now very collectible, lunch boxes and thermoses featuring pop culture characters ranging from Disney, cartoons and comic books, 'The Beatles', and 'The Dukes of Hazard' to name a few. Aladdin Industries was formed as a subsidiary company of the Mantle Lamp Company in 1914 to originally produce special lamps marketed under the "Aladdin" name, but was later pivoted in 1917 to produce thermal cookware for the US Military which introduced the company to a new sector of commerce. Though Aladdin Industries continued to evolve through the 20th century, it wouldn't be until the 1950 that we see the first character depicted on a lunch box, which was Hopalong Cassidy a fictional cowboy. Aladdin Industries was eventually dismantled in the year 2002, sold its product lines, and the company itself sold as well, today Aladdin Industries is owned by Pacific Market International.
