1970 Tudor Prince Oysterdate "Jumbo" (Ref. 7024/0) Silver Dial

$ 2,850

The relationship between Rolex and Tudor dates back to 1926, when Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf envisioned a more accessible wristwatch that still upheld the quality, reliability, and craftsmanship associated with Rolex. For decades, Tudor produced watches alongside its larger sibling, utilizing robust Swiss movements housed within Oyster cases manufactured to Rolex standards. While the two brands shared much of the same DNA, Tudor often embraced more experimental proportions and design cues, resulting in some truly distinctive timepieces that have become increasingly appreciated by collectors today.

The Tudor Prince Oysterdate “Jumbo” presented here is a perfect example of that individuality. Far more than a simple Datejust alternative, the ref. 7024/0 stands apart with its oversized 38mm Oyster case, a remarkably modern presence for the era that gives the watch the feel of a contemporary heritage reissue despite being produced in the 1970s. Much like Tudor’s famed Jumbo Date-Day models, the Prince Oysterdate Jumbo was produced in comparatively small numbers, making surviving examples notably uncommon today. Combined with its clean silver dial and unmistakable Oyster architecture, the result is a versatile and understated sports-dress watch that perfectly captures the charm of vintage Tudor design.
