Hamilton

1970s Hamilton Automatic Day-Date (Ref. 825001-3)

$ 1,350

Hamilton was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1882 and boasts a long and impressive history of breakthroughs in design and technology. While probably best known for their military associations and fantastic field watches, they've put out some really remarkable—and sometimes incredibly unique—outliers as well.

Case in point, this extremely '70s day-date. The chunky, shield-shaped case, red and black dial, and quirky day-date setup all come together perfectly to offer a very unique—and uniquely affordable—time capsule.

CASE & BRACELET

The crisp, cushion-shaped tonneau case was recently polished to exhibit factory-like sunburst finishing with crisp edges. The case exhibits almost no signs of previous use. It comes with its original Hamilton crown and the case back retains its orignal factory markings and finishing. The watch is supplied on a handmade 2pc leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The original matte black dial is perfect and features chunky silver hour markers separated by bright red rectangles for a pop of color, and complemented by the cigarette-style hour and minute hands. The lume on the dial and hands has aged to a matching cream color and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection.

ACCESSORIES

None. The watch is running, but the service history is unknown. A movement service can be provided upon request.
