Piaget
1970s Piaget Cocktail Watch 18K YG (Ref. 9025 B2) Onyx Stone & Pave Diamond "Mystery" Dial
Piaget is widely celebrated as being one of the most creative and esoteric watchmakers, with a deep foundation in Swiss watchmaking as the brand was established in 1874. The avant-garde approach to design isn't without a rigorous dedication to quality, which is expressed through the brand's inherent comprehension of what high luxury and fine watchmaking truly are.
The ref. 9025 B2 is a true representation of the Piaget design ethos in the 1970s, with the melding of precious materials and brilliant stones which are then finished to a degree that is now all but lost in watchmaking. The result is a stunning and extremely thin seamless integrated bracelet design with an incredible onyx stone and pave diamond 'mystery' dial. Piaget is also known for being a mechanical powerhouse as well and this ref. 9523 D2 employs the in-house cal. 9P2 mechanical winding movement.

CASE & BRACELET
The classically round ultra-thin 18K yellow cold case is only 5mm thick and remains in excellent condition, exhibiting minimal signs of use and evidence of only gentle polishing in the past. The unsigned crown is believed to be original to the watch. The case back retains the factory engravings and hallmarks in very crisp and deep condition. The integrated 18K yellow gold mesh bracelet exhibits minimal wear or age and only subtle curving that is extremely common to see in this bracelet style in this era. The bracelet was previously sized to fit a larger wrist so additional 18K yellow gold material was added at the clasp to extend the bracelet, the bracelet currently fits a 7 3/4-inch wrist, but can be sized to fit any wrist size upon request.
DIAL & HANDS
The exquisite three-piece onyx stone and pave diamond dial is masterfully crafted and incredibly stunning. The onyx stone of the outer dial, along with the inner rotating onyx stone disc set with a single diamond which functions as the hour hand, exhibit no cracks and remain in virtually perfect condition. The center pave diamond portion of the dial is expertly set and also in perfect condition. The yellow dauphine minute hand, which is the only traditional hand on the dial, is in excellent condition with nominal oxidation present.
