1971 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Silver Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made. This Datejust ref. 1601 dates to 1971 retains its original silver "pie-pan" stick marker dial, original Jubilee bracelet, and white gold fluted bezel all in excellent condition. This piece would make a great start for a new vintage collector, or be a great addition to an expanding collection. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication.

The thick and symmetrical case is in excellent overall condition with only minimal signs of previous polishing present and light signs of honest use shown. The white gold fluted bezel is in wonderful overall condition with almost no signs of use present. The Rolex 6251H rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces dates to 1969 and is believed to be original to the watch. The bracelet retains 21 links that show normal stretch for the style and age of the bracelet and will fit up to a 7 3/4-inch wrist.
The original silver sunburst "pie-pan" dial is in exceptional, nearly flawless condition showing no damage whatsoever and virtually no age. The tritium lume plots all remain intact and feature a handsome yellow patina, under U.V. light inspection only the 8 o'clock marker displays minor degradation. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The metallic date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
