1974 Rolex Oysterdate Precision (Ref. 6694) Grey Dial

If you know, you know. Initially released in the early ‘50s with the ref. 6094, the Rolex Oysterdate Precision was designed as a simple, manually-wound, entry-level alternative to Rolex’s recently released Datejust and Date models, featuring a 34mm case and little more than a date complication for features and ornamentation.

After a few iterations in between, Rolex perfected the Oysterdate in the minds of many with the ref. 6694. Featuring an upgraded 17-jewel cal. 1225 movement, this was the model’s final iteration, but also its longest living version, with a production run that stretched nearly 30 years, until it was finally discontinued in the late ‘80s.

This mid-70s 6694 is a fantastic example of that final iteration, featuring a beautiful grey dial and original stainless steel oyster bracelet. It’s a great way to get your Rolex story started or a fantastic next addition to any collection.
