1972 Rolex Red Submariner (Ref. 1680) "Mk. IV Dial"
The Rolex Submariner Ref. 1680 is a stunning classic. First introduced in 1969, the Ref. 1680 includes the date, unlike previous Submariners (ie. Ref. 5512 and 5513). The Infamous Red Submariner is also a Ref. 1680 which had the word "Submariner" in red lettering which was produced by Rolex from 1969-1975.
The Mark IV dial variant was the earliest of the "Feet First" red submariner dials and differentiates itself with the following between the other MK variants with:

This specific example remains in excellent condition and retains its original 9315 bracelet and 280 end pieces. CASE & BRACELET
This case has thick and even lugs showing the original case geometry and slight chamfering. The fat font bezel has faded to a stunning grey-blue coloration and retains its original tritium filled pearl. The folded link 9315 oyster bracelet with 280 end pieces is original to the watch and is stamped 4-72 which like the watch remains in excellent condition showing normal wear and stretch from use. DIAL & HANDS
The beautiful Mk. IV matte dial is in wonderful condition showing no blemishing on the dial. The tritium lume remains fully intact which has achieved an eggshell like coloration. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and both the dial and hands show no lume loss or degradation when inspected under U.V. light.
ACCESSORIES
The watch was recently serviced and is running at COSC spec backed by a 1-year warranty of accurate timekeeping.
