1973 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) "Serif Dial"

The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The Ref. 5513 was first introduced in the 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models. (eg. Ref. 1680.)

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent case has recently been polished, showing strong chamfers and minimal wear. The early Rolex service replacement insert remains in excellent condition, retaining its tritium pearl that matches the dial perfectly. The Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces shows minimal stretch and retains 10 links.

DIAL & HANDS

The matte black "serif dial" is in wonderful condition and has taken on a unique and aesthetically pleasing speckled patina. The "serif" tritium lume plots have aged to a wonderful yellow coloration, exhibiting no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely, under U.V. light inspection the minute hand lume exhibits light cracking, the hour and sweep-seconds hands remain fully intact. 

ACCESSORIES 

None. The watch just received a full and complete overhaul and is running at COSC spec backed by a 1-year warranty on the accuracy of timekeeping.
