1975 Rolex Two-Tone Datejust (Ref. 1600) Silver "Sigma" Dial

This two-tone 1971 Datejust 2ef. 1600 retains its original silver "Sigm" dial, matching gold hands, its original, elusive smooth yellow gold bezel, and original two-tone bracelet, all in stellar original condition. This piece would make a great start for a new vintage collector or be a great addition to an expanding collection. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication.
A Sigma dial is a Rolex dial named for the letters printed at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Most Rolex dials are commonly marked with “T Swiss T,” under the 6 o'clock marker; however, a Sigma dial is marked “σ T SWISS T σ.” This signifies the use of gold components within the dial.

CASE & BRACELET
The thick case features symmetrical lugs that show strong factory finishing with only light signs of honest use and minimal evidence of prior polishing. The elusive smooth yellow gold bezel is in exceptional condition, showing nominal wear and a charming rosy patina. The original Rolex 62523H-14 two-tone bracelet with 455 end pieces dates to 1976 and retains 21 links, which show light stretch, fitting up to a 7.75-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and near-perfect "pie-pan" silver sunburst "Sigma" dial is truly beautiful, exhibiting no damage or notable age. The tritium lume plots have achieved a lovely golden patina. Under UV light inspection, the 10 o'clock plot and the 4 o'clock plot display minor degradation, and the rest of the plots show no degradation. The original yellow gold hands match the dial nicely, though they feature a slightly darker patina and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection. The metallic silver date wheel is original with "open" 6 and 9 numerals.

None. The watch is running, though the service history is unknown. A movement service can be purchased upon request.
