1976 Tudor Chronograph (Ref. 7159/0) "Monte Carlo"
Tudor has a long history of well made, purpose built chronographs. The most sought-after and interesting is that of the "Monte Carlo". Boasting a 3 color dial of generally vibrant colors. The "Monte Carlo" is at its core, a high visibility racing chronograph. First produced in 1970 and featured in 3 references and bezel styles; plastic bezel, stainless steel bezel, and a rotating bezel variant.
This specific Tudor "Monte Carlo" chronograph Reference 7159/0 is the second iteration of the Tudor chronograph. Featuring a newer Valjoux cal. 234 movement allowing a date function at the 6 o'clock position. The dial was updated to block style markers and baton hands for a more conservative presence whilst remaining equally visible.
This watch is watch is loved by collectors as one of the more creative and design-oriented vintage chronographs ever produced. In result, we are seeing less and less on the open market as beloved collectors are keeping them and holding onto them creating a substantial demand increased in recent years.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case is believed to be unpolished with original factory finishing remaining sharp, showing very light wear. The screw down pushers and Rolex signed twin-lock crown are original to the watch. The bezel is excellent showing little wear and no enamel loss. The Rolex 7836 folded link oyster bracelet with 382 end pieces remains unpolished exhibiting almost no stretch from use.
DIAL & HANDS
The highly visible, Three-color "Monte Carlo" dial, is in good vintage condition showing some light wear. The tritium lume has been completely removed from the dial. The orange chronograph sweep seconds hand and baton style hour and minute hands are original to the watch, the tritium lume has taken on a dark patina and show as fully intact under U.V. light inspection.
