1977 Rolex Datejust (ref.16014) Silver Dial

This is a very stunning example of an early quickset date Ref. 16014 Rolex Datejust. The Datejust is in our opinion what sets the standard of the classic wristwatch. The Datejust has transcended decade of fashion trends and innovations and continues to still be classic and stunning. Regardless of what outfit or social setting one finds themselves in the Datejust always sets itself apart from the crowd.

This specific example is somewhat transitional in the fact that in 1977 rolex updated the movement of the Datejust to the more "modern" 3035 quickset movement which contains a date hacking feature that allows one to set the date independently of the time. This is a very convenient feature not found in the older versions of the Datejust that predate the "3035" movement. For example with the older versions, if left unworn/unwound or if a date change was needed, one would need to adjust the time forward by 24 hours manually to change the date. The quick set feature allows you to skip this process and  allows the adjustment of the date independently of the time. This specific example also possess the "Vintage" or original stepped or "pie pan" dial with the original tritium hands and lume dots which have aged to a wonderful yellow coloration.
