*Unpolished* 1978 Rolex Submariner (Ref.1680)
The Rolex Submariner Ref. 1680 is a stunning classic. First introduced in 1966, the Ref. 1680 includes the date, unlike previous Submariners (ie. Ref. 5512 and 5513). The Infamous Red Submariner is also a Ref. 1680 which had the word "Submariner" in red lettering, manufactured from 1966-1973. This watch is an example of what is referred to as the "White Dial." It is the first Ref. 1680 with the word "Submariner" in white lettering.
This specific piece would make a versatile daily driver in a casual setting or would look great paired with a suit. The Ref. 1680 is an all-around wonderful sport watch, and would make a nice addition to an existing collection, or would be a unique stand-alone vintage piece.

CASE & BRACELET
The case is believed to remain unpolished and remains sharp with factory chamfers down the lugs and shows honest wear from use. The bezel insert is an early service replacement that remains dark black in coloration, showing little to no wear and retains its luminova pearl. The Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces remains in excellent unpolished condition, retaining 10 links and showing minimal stretch. The VC date stamp on the clasp also dates the bracelet to 1978.
DIAL & HANDS
The matte black dial remains in flawless condition. The tritium lume plots have aged to a lovely creamy yellow coloration and show no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The tritium hands remain slightly lighter in coloration and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The metallic date wheel is era correct with open 6's and 9's.

None. The watch is running at COSC spec and backed by a 1year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
