1979 Rolex Two-Tone Datejust (Ref. 16013)
What is a Buckley dial? These excellent Roman numeral marker dials differentiate themselves as true collector items with painted numerals as opposed to the more commonly seen applied marker, along with matching black hands. The Buckley dials were made famous after a Rolex collector coined the term several years back.
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt. The Rolex Datejust ref. 16013 is a transitional reference as it retains an acrylic crystal similar to earlier vintage Datejusts, but the movement is a Rolex cal. 3035 which possesses the "Quick-Set" date function which comes in handy when needing to quickly adjust the date.

CASE & BRACELET
The previously lightly polished case shows full and symmetrical lugs that show almost no signs of use. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel has is in wonderful condition and remains without wear. The case retains its correct yellow gold twin-lock crown. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The champagne “Buckley” style dial is both vibrant and regal. The dial itself remains very clean, showing almost no signs of age. The tritium lume plots all remain slightly present, however, there is consistent degradation throughout. The original tritium black Buckley hands are in flawless condition showing no wear, the lume has aged to a lovely golden coloration with no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The gold date wheel is correct with open 6’s and 9’s.

None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, previous service history is unknown.
