1985 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 16014) Grey "Buckley Dial"

The Rolex Datejust ref. 16014 is a transitional reference as it retains an acrylic crystal similar to earlier vintage Datejusts, but the movement is a Rolex cal. 3035 which possesses the "Quick-Set" date function which comes in handy when needing to quickly adjust the date.

The excellent case appears to have been very lightly polished in the past and retains very full and symmetrical lugs. The 18k white gold bezel remains unpolished and in excellent condition. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
The elusive and handsome grey Buckley dial is in remarkably well preserved condition, showing no signs of aging on the dial itself. The tritium lume plots have aged to vivid yellow patina, under U.V. light inspection the 4 o'clock plot exhibits degradation, the rest of the lume plots are fully intact and round. The original black "Buckley" hands with tritium lume match the dial perfectly, showing no degradation or lume loss under U.V. light inspection. The date wheel is era correct with open 6's and 9's.
