1986 Rolex Explorer II (Ref. 16550) "Polar Dial"
Rolex only produced the 16550 for about four years, from 1985 to 1989, making it a rather rare model amongst its peers, the black gloss dial with white gold hands and hour marker surrounds were similar to the dials of the Submariner and GMT Master

CASE & BRACELET
The case remains in original condition with factory finishing and case chamfering still present. The original large font stainless steel bezel remains excellent vintage condition. The Rolex Oyster 93150 bracelet with 593 end pieces retains 10 links remains in excellent condition showing minor stretch and wear.
DIAL & HANDS
The white dial of this 16550 has taken on an excellent patina. The glossy white dial remains a crisp white coloration while the black surround tritium filled lume plots and hands have aged to a wonderful bright yellow coloration. The hands and lume plots show no lume degradation when inspected under U.V. light.
