These features included a sapphire crystal, an independent ability to set the GMT hand, a thicker case that earned the reference the nickname "Fat Lady", the first GMT to use a black and red insert sometimes referred to as the "Coke" insert and a gloss black dial with white-gold index surrounds. The ref. 16760 is also sometimes referred to as the “Sophia Loren” drawing comparisons between the new curves of the watch and the Italian beauty.

This is a truly exceptional example and is becoming a highly sought after modern classic This piece would make a great stand-alone piece or a great addition to an existing collection!

CASE & BRACELET

The strong case appears to have been lightly polished in the past, remaining even in presence and retaining very full lugs and crown guards. The original "Coke" bezel insert remains bright red and deep black in coloration showing almost no signs of use. The case back partially retains its original green Rolex sticker. The original Rolex 78360 Oyster bracelet with 501 end pieces is in excellent condition, retaining 12 links and showing almost no stretch from use.

DIAL & HANDS

The black dial with white gold surround markers is in stunning condition. The originally glossy dial has achieved a lovely and sought after matte finish. The tritium markers have aged to a strong yellow coloration and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under U.V. light inspection the minute and sweep-seconds hands show some minor degradation, the hour and 24hr hands remain fully intact. The date wheel is era correct with open 6's and 9's.
