Rolex
*Unpolished* 1987 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) "Frozen Dial"
The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The ref. 5513 was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.
The glossy black dial 5513s were the last variation of the legendary reference that so many iconic people wore and loved. Today, these later models have become highly desirable as they are the bookend to one of the longest-running and most appreciated references Rolex has ever produced. During this time only very few 5513s made it off the production line as Rolex was preparing to introduce its successor, the ref. 14060 Submariner.

CASE & BRACELET
The case retains thick, symmetrical lugs that boast extremely crisp chamfers and factory finishing throughout. The case is believed to remain unpolished with light signs of honest use present. The original "thin font" Mk. III bezel bezel insert is well-preserved showing no fading and nominal signs of use, the tritium pearl remains intact but does show some wear. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 10 links that show almost no stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original glossy black dial with white gold surround markers is in beautiful condition, retaining its glossy finishing while also exhibits a very subtle "frozen" patina across the dial that is only visible at certain angles in direct light. The dial exhibits no damage. The tritium lume plots have achieved a rich patina and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged lighter than the dial, which is common in this era, and feature a charming creamy eggshell patina which coordinates with the dial patina nicely. Under UV light inspection the hands display no degradation.
