The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The ref. 5513 Submariner was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.
This 1988 Rolex Submariner ref. 5513 is in absolutely stunning condition and would make a versatile daily driver. Appropriate in a wide variety of settings, from casual everyday wear to pairing perfectly with a suit or sports coat. This ref. 5513 is everything we love about vintage "no-date" submariners, but with some of the modern nuances that make it wonderfully functional. CASE & BRACELET
The lightly polished case retains very full and symmetrical lugs that show minimal signs of previous use. The original black bezel insert is excellent, showing almost no signs of use, and retains its tritium pearl at the 12 o'clock position which has aged to a charming caramel coloration. The Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 10 links and shows almost no signs of use.
DIAL & HANDS
The original glossy black dial with white gold surround markers presents beautifully on the wrist. The dial has achieved a sought-after "frozen" patina that is consistent throughout the lacquer and retains its glossy finish with no damage. The tritium lume plots have aged to a handsome ivory coloration and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The hands are later luminova service replacements with lume that will hold a glow, the hands match the overall aesthetic of the watch and display no damage or degradation when inspected under U.V. light.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, back by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
