1989 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) "L Serial"
The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The Ref. 5513 was first introduced in the 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.
The last of the ref. 5513 Submariners produced were adorned with a serial number beginning with an "L", otherwise known as "L serials". These 5513's were the last of the legendary reference that so many iconic people wore and loved. These watches today have become highly desirable as they are the bookend to one of the longest-running and most appreciated references Rolex has ever produced. During this time only very few 5513's made it off the production line as Rolex was preparing to introduce the ref. 5513's successor, the ref. 14060 Submariner.

CASE & BRACELET
The sharp case is believed to remain unpolished, showing strong chamfers and factory finishing, with honest wear from use. The era-correct bezel insert is excellent, remaining deep black in coloration with almost no signs of use and retaining its tritium pearl at the 12 o'clock. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces is in wonderful unpolished condition as well, exhibiting light signs of use and almost no stretch.
DIAL & HANDS
The beautiful glossy black dial with white gold surround markers has achieved a consistent matte finish throughout. The dial itself remains free of blemishes. The tritium lume plots have aged to a slight ivory patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely, under U.V. light inspection the hour hand shows some very minor cracking in the lume, the minute and sweep-seconds hand remain fully intact.
