1989 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) "L Serial"
The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The ref. 5513 was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.
The last of the ref. 5513 Submariners produced were adorned with a serial number beginning with an "L", otherwise known as "L serials". These 5513's were the last of the legendary reference that so many iconic people wore and loved. These watches today have become highly desirable as they are the bookend to one of the longest-running and most appreciated references Rolex has ever produced. During this time only very few 5513's made it off the production line as Rolex was preparing to introduce the ref. 5513's successor, the ref. 14060 Submariner.

CASE & BRACELET
The strong case has been very lightly polished in the past and retains very thick, symmetrical lugs, and full crown guards. The original bezel insert has taken on a deep navy blue coloration and shows light signs of use, the insert retains its tritium pearl at the 12 o'clock position which has aged to a light creamy coloration. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 10 links that show light stretch from use.
DIAL & HANDS
The original glossy dial with white gold surround markers has a handsome look and a great vintage vibe, the dial retains its glossy finish but has aged to show a charming and consistent speckled patina. The tritium lume plots remain bright white in coloration and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under U.V. light inspection the hour hand shows some very minor cracking and remains stable, the minute and sweep seconds hand display no degradation.
