1990s Hamilton Chronomatic II (Ref. 9988) White Dial

Hamilton was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1882, initially specializing in producing pocket watches. The brand boasts a long and impressive history of breakthroughs in design and technology and perhaps is best known for its extensive work as the official supplier to the U.S. Armed Forces.

But it wasn't strictly military styles for the brand, as evidenced in part by this fantastic Chronomatic II ref. 9988 chronograph, which looks like it would be much more at home behind a steering wheel than a joystick. The white dial ref. 9988 was nicknamed the "poor man's Paul Newman" for the dial's resemblance to the famed Rolex without matching its price tag. It's one of the many very cool offerings from this brand, which tap into American heritage like no other watch brand can.
