The Omega Speedmaster Professional is undoubtedly a beloved chronograph. Its rich history began with its involvement in automotive racing before transitioning to aviation and eventually becoming a crucial part of NASA's U.S. Space Program. The vintage Omega Speedmaster collection boasts a range of references, each with its own subtle differences that add to the overall individuality of each timepiece.

There is a tremendous amount of value in the transitional model Speedmasters of the 90s. These later-era pieces feature several subtle quality-of-life improvements to the design that add up to increase the overall robustness of the iconic chronograph, the most notable of which is the upgraded bracelet. Built on the same platform as the ref. 3950.50, the Omega Speedmaster Professional 25th Anniversary ref. 3891.50 was produced in a limited edition of 2,500 pieces to commemorate the Apollo XI Moon landing. This special release was offered in two configurations—one on a leather strap, as seen here, and another on a bracelet. Both versions feature the commemorative Apollo XI engraving on the left side of the case, along with individual limited-edition numbering on the caseback.
