2000s Shellman & Co. Grand Complication Classic Minute Repeater Chronograph 'Quartz' (Ref. 6771-H32167) Guilloche Dial

$ 950

Founded in Tokyo in 1971 by Yoshi Isogai, Shellman established itself as one of Japan’s most revered purveyors of fine vintage timepieces. Best known for its deep expertise in Patek Philippe and for championing independent masters such as Philippe Dufour, the retailer cultivated a uniquely discerning clientele. That same philosophy of preserving horological artistry eventually inspired Shellman to create its own line of watches—pieces designed to bring mechanical beauty and classical complication into an accessible, collectible format.

Launched in 1996, the Shellman & Co. collection pushed the possibilities of high-end quartz watchmaking. Using advanced Citizen-built calibers capable of mimicking mechanical complication functions, the line offered minute repeaters, perpetual calendars, world timers, and chronographs that fused old-world elegance with modern precision. These watches quickly developed a cult following in Japan for their elaborate dials, surprising complexity, and philosophical reverence for traditional horology—despite being quartz-powered.

Powered by the Citizen made—cal. 6772 Campanola minute repeater movement, the Shellman Grand Complication Classic delivers a complex set of functionality with acoustic repeater tones. The intricately rendered guilloché dial, sculpted sub-registers, and gold-and-silver moonphase display showcase the aesthetic craftsmanship that made Shellman’s creations so collectible in Japan and beyond.

A distinctive blend of traditional design, imaginative engineering, and cultural significance, this reference represents one of the most compelling expressions of Shellman’s Grand Complication line.
