Credor
2020 Credor Eichi II 18K RG (Ref. GBLT998) Noritake Porcelain Dial W/ Box & Papers
The legacy of Seiko's commitment to craftsmanship is as alive today as it was 50 years ago, however, the mainline offerings of Seiko only show a fraction of the true refinement and quality they're capable of in watchmaking. With Grand Seiko, there is a far more artisanal approach to the construction of the cases and dial, though the scale of which is done with a mass market in mind. Seiko's most exclusive and prestigious offerings are creations under the Credor name.
Credor started in 1974 under the name "Crêt D'Or" or "Golden Gift", as a collection of precious metal watches under the Seiko name, but branched off as an independent house under the Seiko umbrella in 1978 with the simplified "Credor" name. Today, Credor is Seiko's halo brand and is their most concentrated representation of quality, the Eichi II is Credor's halo model and is by far the brand's most celebrated and sought-after creation. Developed by the Micro Artist Studio to encapsulate watchmaking in its purest form, no frills or nonessential features are seen on this watch apart from meticulous attention to detail with the best possible materials being used. The painstaking process that goes into the development of the Eichi II allows for approximately only 20 pieces to be made a year. This process includes the hand-making and painting of the Noritake white porcelain dial and the fabrication of the Credor cal. 7R14 "Spring Drive" movement which features a power reserve function that is visible through the exhibition case back along with the beautiful movement itself.
