1978 "Pumpkin" Rolex Sea-Dweller (Ref. 1665) MK IV "Great White"
In 1977 the Rolex Sea-Dweller Ref. 1665 received an updated dial configuration. This new dial configuration is sometimes referred to as the "Great White". This updated dial differs from the previous variants, as the dial states the model as "SEA- DWELLER" and the writing "SUBMARINER 2000" which was located below "SEA-DWELLER" of previous models is now absent from the dial.
In addition, "SEA-DWELLER" is now in white text as opposed to red text which was standard on all sea dweller dials since the model's first introduction in 1967.(**And other accompanying red text depending on dial variant and vintage)

|Rolex 93150 Flip Lock 580 ends
This case has recently been polished and has very light wear from use. The insert retains the tritium filed pearl which matches the dial and the hands. The oyster flip lock 93150 bracelet retains 11 links and comes complete with 580 end pieces. The bracelet has some stretch from use.
The MK IV matte service dial is in impeccable condition and has taken on a golden orange patina sometimes referred to as "Pumpkin". The tritium hands and lume plots have achieved an excellent creamy orange/yellow patina and match the lume plots on the dial. Under UV the dial and hands show no lume degradation and remain fully intact. The original silver date disk displays the correct open 6 and 9's.
