1979 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date (Ref. 1505) Two Tone
A unique take on a classic! This specific 1979 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 1505 retains it rare and original block marker champagne dial that is not commonly seen on the reference. In addition to the dial this specific Ref.1505 is complete with its 18k yellow gold engine turned bezel and two-tone oyster bracelet!
This is a unique and quite an uncommon Ref. 1505. The two-tone yellow gold and stainless look would pair with a suit on a bracelet for a formal feel and or look just as handsome in a casual setting on one of our textured calfskin straps or on something simplistic and minimal like a black Horween shell cordovan strap.
The engine turned bezel yields a classic and less dressed look compared to the smooth or gold fluted bezel more commonly found on the Oyster Perpetual references of the same era. In our opinion, the engine turned bezel provides the wearer more flexibility in wearability; such as a casual social setting or a classy event, where the fluted bezel although stunning, lends itself to a more refined and dressed feel.
This specific example would make a great start for a new vintage collector, or be a great addition to the avid collectors expanding collection.

CASE & BRACELET
The case has been previously polished but retains full thick lugs and is in fantastic condition. The 18k yellow gold engine turned bezel is in excellent condition and suits the feel of the piece splendidly. The original Rolex oyster 78350 bracelet and end links are era correct and in wonderful condition with minimal stretch.
DIAL & HANDS
The handsome and uncommon champagne block marker dial is in original and untouched condition. Marked T Swiss T at the 6 o'clock position the tritium lume dots are in fantastic condition without any lume degradation and have aged to a wonderful creamy yellow coloration. The yellow gold hands complement the unique block markers beautifully and the lume has achieved a slightly darker patina which complements the charming dial and vintage features of the watch.
