Tropical 1940s Lemania Field Watch (Ref. 192G) Gilt Dial
Lemania is best known for being a movement maker that designed chronograph movements for Omega, Heuer, Tissot, and even supplied base calibers to Patek Philippe for many of the Grand Complications timepieces. Lemania actually only made very few watches under their own name, making Lemania-branded watches both sought-after and very rare.
The ref. 192G is a classically designed field watch, featuring fully lumed numeral markers and white syringe markers housed in a robust but modestly sized case. However, this specific example has achieved a stunning tropical patina.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case features broad, straight lugs that retain original facets and details with light evidence of being previously polished and honest signs of use. The crown is believed to be an early replacement. The case back retains all of its original factory markings in deep and crisp condition. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc black canvas strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The two-tone dial has achieved a stunning tropical patina, featuring a bright tan/brown coloration to the center of the dial, while the gilt outer minute track remains dark black in color. The radium lume plots have aged to a very similar color to the dial, creating an almost ghost-like effect. The lume plots all remain intact with no notable degradation present when inspected under UV light. The original contrasting white hands appear to have been professionally restored with tritium early in the lifespan of the watch, and feature a lighter patina than the dial lume.
