Tropical 1960s Girard Perregaux Gyromatic '39 Jewels' Gilt Dial
Girard Perregaux has a deep lineage within Swiss watchmaking history, unofficially forming at the end of the 17th century and formally being announced as Girard Perregaux & Cie in 1852, and during their time, since have created some very worthwhile and interesting watches.
The Gyromatic movement was Girard Perregaux's in-house automatic winding system, designed in the 1950s and involving two Gyroton wheels, each of which contains 7 rubies that allowed the automatic winding system to run smoothly and without excessive wear and tear. The Gryomatic movements are highly regarded amongst enthusiasts for their reliability and accuracy.

CASE & BRACELET
The classically designed case is in excellent condition, showing minimal wear and only nominal evidence of being polished in the past. screw-down case back retains its factory "stainless steel" engraving. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc leather strap
DIAL & HANDS
The originally black, glossy gilt dial has achieved an incredibly impressive brown tropical patina, while exhibiting no notable damage or unsightly age. The strontium lume plots located at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers have taken on a lovely golden-beige patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light. The original alpha-style hands match the dial nicely with no degradation present, though some light oxidation is present.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time, but the service history is unknown. A movement service can be purchased upon request.
