Tropical 1967 Rolex Oyster-Perpetual Date (Ref. 1500) Gilt Dial
This Rolex Oyster Perpetual would make a great start for a new vintage collector, or be a great addition to an expanding collection as a daily driver and would provide a classic feel while bringing a unique look while worn on the wrist.
|Bracelet||Rolex 78350 Oyster Bracelet W/ 557 End Pieces|
The lightly polished case retains thick and symmetrical lugs that show light signs of honest use. The smooth stainless steel bezel has been lightly polished in the past and shows light signs of use. The later Rolex 78350 Oyster bracelet with 557 end pieces is in excellent condition and retains 12 links that show minimal stretch.
The gilt dial has achieved an incredible and consistent tropical patina that ranges in color from bright golds to deep chocolate browns. The dial itself is in exceptionally well-preserved condition and displays no damage. The tritium lume plots have taken on an ivory patina and show light degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely, under U.V. light inspection the hour hand and minute hand show some minor degradation, and the hands themselves show corrosion which is common for hands from this era. The metallic date wheel features closed 6's and 9's which is correct for this era.
None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, previous service history is unknown.
