Tropical 1997 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 16234) "Tritinova" Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever made. This classic dress watch has been produced by the Swiss luxury watchmaker since 1945 and has remained a timeless classic that is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust was designed for everyday wear, and its sleek and elegant design makes it one of the most universally loved watches for both men and women.
This example retains its original and actually very rare "Tritinova" dial. During the late '90s, Rolex was transitioning its luminous material from tritium lume to the non-radioactive luminova lume. During this transitional period, a few of the remaining "T SWISS - T < 25" signed dial blanks were filled with luminova luminous material from the Rolex factory. This makes for an ultra transitional dial variant that gives you the presence of a more vintage style watch, with the modern functionality of luminova lume.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent no-holes case retains very thick and symmetrical lugs that show honest signs of use, with minimal evidence of being previously polished present. The 18K white gold fluted bezel remains in crisp condition, showing light signs of wear. The earlier, but era-correct Rolex 62510H Jubilee bracelet with 555 end pieces was sourced with the watch retains 19 links that show light stretch and will fit up to a 7.25-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original sunburst "tritinova" dial, which started as a standard silver dial, has achieved an incredibly unique, intricate, and vibrant tropical patina. Featuring a wa warm color pallete, consiting or orange, gold, brown, and yellow exploding from the center of the dial. Apart from the beautiful patina, the dial exhibits no damage. The lumninova lume on the dial and hands remains a matching bright white color with no degradation present under UV light inspection.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
