1950s Heuer Triple Calendar (Ref. 1806)

The triple calendar Heuer ref. 1806 is one of the more under-the-radar timepieces Heuer produced. Heuer is most known for its sports watches and, most notably, their chronographs developed for automotive racing and aviation. The ref. 1806 triple calendar came out as Heuer's 90th-anniversary watch and was marketed as the "Half of a Millennium" watch as it came out in the year 1950.

Simplistic and charming is the best way to describe the Heuer ref. 1806 as this understated timepiece is filled with nuances that add up to an exciting wristwatch experience. The inner dial is a simple dress watch design with a brushed inner dial, applied gold markers, and the running seconds at 6 o'clock. This complements the outer blue date track perfectly which coincides beautifully with the serpent-like date indicator hand. An automatic bumper movement powers the watch and the day, date, and month complications, and is a charming reminder of the era from which the watch is produced.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent stainless steel case retains its original dimensions and chamfers while showing honest signs of wear with evidence of being lightly polished in the past. The crown and the setting buttons on the side of the case are original to the watch. The case back does show some scratching and wear from being opened previously. The watch will come on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The beautiful two-tone dial consists of a brushed silver inner dial with a satin-finish minute track, both of which remain in excellent vintage condition with only elements of gentle age present. The outer date track has taken on a slightly darker patina than the center of the dial, and the blue numerals all remain intact with minor wear present. The non-luminous alpha-style hands and blue date indicator hand remain original to the watch and are in excellent condition.
