*Unpolished* 1973 Rolex Two-Tone Datejust (Ref. 1601) Grey Sigma Dial

The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt. The Datejust would make a great start for a new vintage collector, or be a great addition to an expanding collection.

This two-tone example is especially well preserved and delivers everything you want from an early dress watch, from the excellent fluted bezel, and desirable lume patina to the original two-tone bracelet. This is a perfect dress piece that sets itself apart from the crowd as an understated statement of individuality!

A Sigma dial is a Rolex dial named for the letters printed at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Most Rolex dials are commonly marked with “T Swiss T,” under the 6 o'clock marker, however, a Sigma dial is marked “σ T SWISS T σ.” This signifies the use of gold components within the dial.
