To many, the brand is synonymous with the Nautilus or Grand Complications series, but for those who like a more traditional dress watch, there's nothing more iconic than a Patek Philippe Calatrava. It's the truest representation of that style, and in many ways set the standard when it was first introduced to the world in 1932 with the model reference 96. The sleek, round cases of the Calatrava often feature extremely simple, perfectly executed designs with elegant dials that lack all unnecessary obstructions. This ref. 5196P from the 2010s is the successor of the many incredible and classic models that came before it – featuring a weightier-than-it-looks 37mm platinum case with a dial made of subtly contrasting concentric circles anchored by a subseconds dial and Breguet numerals at the hour markers. It's as timeless as can be, which is perfect, since you'll only be looking after it for the next generation.

CASE & BRACELET
The incredible, unpolished platinum case retains crisp edges while exhibiting only nominal evidence of prior use. The case retains its original crown adorned with the Patek Philippe cross. The case back is clean with only minimal wear present. The watch comes supplied on its original Patek Philippe black alligator leather strap with the original platinum Patek Philippe tang buckle.
DIAL & HANDS
The flawless and original multi-tone dial is made of concentric circles with the outermost circle featuring a matte light grey finish that houses the applied hour markers. Next is a circle with a brushed silver finish that houses the silver Breguet numerals. The next inner circle features a second matte light grey finish with the "Patek Philippe Geneve" wordmark in the upper. The lower central circle features the subseconds dial, with matching Breguet numerals. The package is completed by feuille hands, all of which are in pristine condition.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes with its original inner and outer boxes, a leather document folio, and an Extract from the Archives has been ordered with Patek Philippe. The watch is keeping time, no service history is known.
